Los Angeles 1999, a group of musicians gather to discuss the story of a man whose brain worked as a transistor radio, a story of a Radio Vagabond. To take this story into their own as they progressed their music into a genre all to themselves, Radio Vago was born. Radio Vago quickly became a much buzzed about LA band for their incredible musicianship and stellar stage show. Winning the title of Best New Band by the LA Weekly, they’ve headlined The Troubadour on many occasions and opened for The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, The Distillers, and Sleater Kinney at the legendary El Rey and Henry Fonda Theaters in L.A. They have used their ability to turn a ticket holder into a Radio Vago fanatic on tours across Europe and the West Coast with The Mars Volta, opening for The Donnas at Las Vegas’ House Of Blues, playing SXSW in 2003, and performing at the 2002 Warped Tour. They also hit the airwaves with a BBC Session in London Recorded Live in the summer of 2003. Recently Radio Vago went quiet as they re-assembled, re-energized, and moved forward. The result of this change brought in a new lead singer Mire Molnar, replacing original member Adrienne Pearson. With this change Radio Vago are now back and (holding true to the cliché) better than ever. They’ve completed their first full length album with Omar Rodriguez of The Mars Volta producing and are back out on the road, performing again at South By Southwest in March. Radio Vago have kept up a record of being one of the hardest working bands in Los Angeles. They are a rock/Goth/noise powerhouse group of musicians ready to blow your mind, just make sure your radio is tuned in correctly.
